The Islands Wildlife
The Islands are famous for their Exotic wildlife, wool and more recently the 1982 conflict (The Falklands War) Tourists visiting the Islands find it very unique for its wildlife and photography visitors can take trips to see Penguins, Birds, Seals, and lots more that can be arranged by the tourist office and various tour operators.
The Falklands has some of the most outstanding sceneries and wildlife. which include birds such as the Cobb's wren the ruddy-headed goose. black-throated finches, endemic to the Islands, Falkland thrushes, cobb's grass wrens tussock birds and migratory birds, sanderlings, white-romped sandpiper gentoo Penguins are ashore all year around magellanic and rock hopper penguins that migrate, but arrive back in the Islands in mid October, having traveled as far as Brazil in some cases.
Birds

Amongst the bird life are black-browed albatross, the giant petrels or "stinkers" as they are known locally, King penguins remain in the Falkland Islands all year round but their feeding trips get longer the older their chicks are often leaving almost adult sized fluffy chicks ashore over the long winter months, also to be found here is our slightly more elusive Penguin, the Macaroni, they can be spotted from October through to February.

The flora of the Falkland Islands boasts treasures such as the fascinating snake plant, and the colorful Felton’s Flower
Mammals
One of the most spectacular Falklands mammals are the giant elephant seals, these are recognizable first by their smell and then by their size. they are often found on the Eddyson Rock, a solitary stack at the Northern entrance to the Falkland sound. Another highlight are the pods of killer whales which can also be seen offshore around breeding seal colonies throughout the summer.
